Cllr. Joshua Malcolm is a Post-Doctoral Researcher, Academic Lecturer, and Public Health Practitioner with strong expertise in diet and lifestyle research, health and social care, and academic innovation. His work focuses on children’s dietary habits and the prevention of childhood obesity, diabetes, and other health inequalities affecting vulnerable populations.
He holds a Master of Public Health, a Postgraduate Diploma in Drugs and Alcohol Studies, a BA (Hons) in Social Sciences, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Public Health.
Alongside his academic roles, Joshua serves as the elected Councillor for Stirchley and Brookside Parish Council, where he leads on community advocacy, resident engagement, and local wellbeing initiatives. He also works as a Healthy Lifestyles Adviser, providing tailored lifestyle and behaviour-change support to individuals and families.
