Dr. Chimwemwe Mkambula is an experienced consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with over two decades of expertise in women’s health. A member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, she holds an MD from the University of Liverpool. Her specialties include intrapartum care, early pregnancy complications, and clinical governance. She is passionate about global women’s health, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, and holds numerous national, regional, and local responsibilities within the NHS in the UK.
Additionally, Chim serves as the Vice Chair of the NICE Women’s and Reproductive Health Suite Guideline Committee, contributing her expertise to shape important healthcare guidelines.
In addition to her professional roles, Chim holds honorary senior clinical lecturer positions with both UK and African universities. She is dedicated to mentoring medical students and trainee doctors from faith-based and ethnic minority communities. Outside of her professional work, Chim is committed to promoting women’s health and educating ethnic minority and faith communities on health issues.
Core and central to her life is her passion and love for God. She serves as a deaconess in the Church of Pentecost UK. Chim is also a wife and mother, demonstrating a balanced commitment to her personal and professional life.
