Who We Are

Christian Healthcare Professionals Network was formed to bring together all Christian healthcare professionals and equip them with biblical knowledge, resources and opportunities to help them excel in their profession and transform lives. Established in 2021, as the world continues to seek answers during a pandemic, the need for such a body is clear. The aim of this network is to ensure that Christians professionals in their various healthcare fields demonstrate the love of God to humanity. As a body of Christian healthcare professionals, we come together to provide solutions to the nations and transform lives.

Our Vision

The Christian Healthcare Professional Network will focus on connecting, motivating and equipping Christian healthcare professionals from all backgrounds to transform lives in their communities with values and principles of the kingdom of God and position themselves as channels of love through whom God’s divine resources will flow to meet the healthcare needs of the society.
We are called to be the salt and light of the world and to be an example of Christ in our healthcare profession.

  • Advancement of christian faith, the word of God and the full Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ worldwide.

To inspire and enable our members as ambassadors of Christ, to serve all humanity around the world without regard to race, religion, gender and ethnicity.

Our Values

The CHPNET-UK Christian values are based on the values and principles of the Kingdom of God. The values and principles of the Kingdom of God in this context entail teachings about Christ that define the Christian as the light and salt of the world, imbued with Godly attributes such as love, integrity, patience, hard work, honesty and faithfulness.

“But the spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control”. Galatians 5:22.

  • To acknowledge, love and obey God, the maker of heaven and earth, the giver of life and the Lord of all creation.
  • To practise with honesty, integrity, compassion, and love to all humanity.
  • To deliver care that addresses our patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • To maintain respect and honour for human life from beginning to end, including those who are elderly and infirm, those who have disabilities and those who are unborn.
  • To serve our patients based on their healthcare needs without partiality or discrimination.
  • To reach out with love and care for the poor, vulnerable and those that are marginalized.
  • To speak the truth, respect privacy and safeguard our patients’ confidences.
  • To put our patients first whilst fully accepting our duty to promote preventive medicine and public health.
  • To be in good standing with our respective regulatory or professional bodies and respect the governing authorities and maintain continuous professional development.
  • To adhere strictly to our professional Code of Ethics and not yield to monetary and material enticements that will dent or soil their image and by extension the image of The Church of Pentecost.

We exist to provide opportunities for healthcare professional to connect with each other, train and educate each other, serve the communities we operate in and transform the lives of those we care for. As well, we aim to support and mentor students pursuing educational training in healthcare professions. We care about the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of our members and we aim to provide pastoral care and support through the challenges of life.

By joining the network, you can connect with other healthcare professionals in your field of interest, as well as find mentors or be a mentor to other professionals. Through our links with overseas health institutions and voluntary programmes, we can  provide you with global opportunities to make an impact. To bring you exposure in your field through partnership and collaborative working  with other UK charities and professional organisations.

As a healthcare professional, you can get access to resources to support, train and promote best practice in your local area as well as globally. You will also be able to utilise our career fares to access a variety of opportunities suitable to your profession.

Get access to the latest healthcare news and important resources from relevant professional and regulatory bodies. We will keep you up to date with relevant information to enhance your continuous professional development(CPD) and provide training opportunities. Our training will tie in with biblical truths on ethical issues and current challenges facing Christian healthcare professionals.

We are here to equip and motivate our members to shine the light of Christ in them in order to transform the lives of the people they support and work with.

Meet The Team

Dr. Chimwemwe Kalumbi-Mkambula - MBBS, MRCOG, DFFP, MD

President

Over the last two decades, I have been honoured to lead a career in global women’s health in the United Kingdom and Sub-Saharan Africa with advanced specialist skills in intrapartum care as well as patient safety within my role as a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. I am  also privileged to contribute to the training of tomorrow’s doctors and research in my capacity as an Honorary Senior lecturer.

I enjoy mentoring both medical students and junior doctors. I am deeply passionate about safe motherhood and have been involved in various  projects aimed at improving maternal and neonatal outcomes in line with WHO global health initiatives of reducing maternal and neonatal mortality.

Anthony Kuebutornye - MPHARM, MRPHARMS, PG IPRESC

Vice-President

Specialist Pharmacist in Substance and Alcohol Dependence. He had several roles in my career such as Area Lead Pharmacist, Pharmacist Manager, Locum Pharmacist, Trainee Pharmacist Pre-Registration Tutor and Medicines Information Pharmacist. I am motivational, meticulous, thoughtful, insightful and dynamic with clear and influential communication skills.

I am passionate about leadership, empowerment and strategic thinking alongside delivery to make the best changes for the greater benefit of all mankind in any society, organisation or endeavour. I believe nothing in life can be achieved without the right leadership and commitment. I am a big fan of Chelsea FC so please don’t ring me when they’ve lost a game.

Alex Appenteng Boateng

COP-UK National Executive Council Officer

Alex is a born-again Christian, a Presiding Elder of the Church of Pentecost and a member of the COP-UK National Executive Council. He is the Council’s Liaison/Rep on the CHPNetwork leadership team. Alex is a community Pharmacist of close to 20yrs experience both in Ghana and the United Kingdom. He is married with three children, one boy and two girls. Alex enjoys music but has croaky voice and an ardent Liverpool FC supporter.

Gideon Owusu-Tawiah - BSc. MSc. MBA

Treasurer

Using my experience and clinical skills as a mental health practitioner to support the recovery and the well-being of people experiencing difficulties with their mental health. Promoting mental health awareness and mental health education to equip people to develop copping strategies to manage their mental health.

Support for young people who were struggling with their mental health and dropping out of school to re-discover their potentials and build capacity to resolve the precipitating factors affecting their mental well-being. Supporting and rehabilitating forensic patients to regain their self-wealth and become functional in the society. Leading a team to stabilise mental patients in crisis. 

Senior Mental health practitioner and Team Manager. Specialised in Forensic Mental Health,- Rehabilitation mental health and Crisis Mental Health. Specialised in Managing behaviours and Young people’s Mental Health and Carrier progression.

Media, Communication and Event Officer

An experienced nurse and Haemodialysis Matron. An interest in teaching on health-related topics and Leadership. Invited speaker on national and international conferences in Europe, UK and Ghana.

  • The 45th European Dialysis and Transplantation Nurses Association/ ERCA annual International conference Valencia in 2016.
  • British Renal Society Regional/ National Conference 2016.

I have interest in teaching on health-related topics and Leadership in the local Ghanaian Languages.
