Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Knowledge, Confidence and Earlier Action

Join our October community talks
CHPNet UK will run breast cancer awareness talks on:
* 15 October 2026
* 25 October 2026
CHPNet UK President, Dr Chimwemwe Kalumbi-Mkambula, will support breast cancer awareness talks in various platforms
Our talks will focus on recognising breast changes, understanding screening, addressing common myths and knowing when and how to seek help. We welcome women, men, families and community leaders to join the conversation.
Times, venues and joining information will be shared through CHPNet UK and local community channels.
Know your normal—and act on changes
Look out for:
* A new lump or swelling in the breast, chest or armpit.
* Changes in breast size or shape.
* Skin dimpling, puckering or colour changes—on Black or brown skin, this may appear darker than usual.
* A nipple that newly turns inward, a nipple rash or unusual discharge.
These changes do not necessarily mean cancer, but they should be checked by a GP. Symptoms can occur without pain. If you notice a new or unusual change, contact your GP promptly rather than waiting for a screening invitation. (nhs.uk, breastcancernow.org)
Faith, community and compassionate care
At CHPNet UK, we believe trusted conversations can help people move from uncertainty to informed action. Faith and community support can offer encouragement alongside medical assessment and treatment.
This October, let’s talk openly, support one another and make breast awareness part of everyday wellbeing.
